"Do you need to pump abrasive, highly corrosive, viscous, high density and shear sensitive products?"
Verderflex Peristaltic tube and hose pumps from Verder have gained worldwide prominence particularly in dosing applications involving abrasive, highly corrosive, viscous, high density and shear sensitive products within industries such as water and waste water, food & beverage, chemical, biofuel, print & packaging and ceramics...

The Verderflex peristaltic pump has a very-gentle pumping action which does not damage the pumped material; this can be an advantage in many applications which involve shear sensitive products such as foods, beverages and yeasts. Offering pumping capacities from a few millilitres per minute up to 80m³/hr (0.45gpm to 350gpm), discharge pressure of up to 16bar (230psi), a repeatability accuracy of ±1% without any slip and a suction lift of up to 95% vacuum the Verderflex range can suit almost any application...
Verderflex Performance Information...
The Verderflex peristaltic hose pump range provide exceptional results in the pumping of a vast array of products, from waste water to raspberry sauce, yet in each of these roles Verderflex peristaltic pumps provide the same high level of reliability and cost-effectiveness. Peristaltic pumps often last longer than other types due to their design: the hose is the only working part in contact with the fluid. This reduces the cost of maintenance and, due to the reduced downtime, the associated costs are minimised.
The Verderflex website is intended to give detailed information on the technology, applications and specifications of the Verderflex range of peristaltic pumps. Should you require any further information or wish to speak to a sales engineer click here for contact information.
Features & Benefits of Peristaltic Pumps
Seal-less design
The main feature of the peristaltic pump is the tube/hose: because this is the only part of the pump to come in contact with the product it means the pump avoids corrosion and is leak-free.
Low maintenance costs
When the tube/hose does need replacing the cost is minimal compared to other pumps’ maintenance costs, in addition the time needed to replace the tube/hose is much less then that needed to repair other pump types.
Dry running
Many pump users face difficulties when the pump runs dry, peristaltic pumps are able to do this without any lubrication from outside.
Self priming
The pumps are capable of self-priming and can handle products that are likely to “air” or “gas”.
Gentle pumping action
In addition, because of the tube/hose and the pumps’ gentle action, the product being pumped is not damaged in the process thus making peristaltic pumps ideal for shear sensitive products.
High suction lift
The pumps also have high suction capabilities and can provide high discharge pressures meaning they are suitable for use where the product being pumped needs to be moved away from the area of the pump.
Abrasion resistant
Tube/Hose life is not related to a product’s abrasive qualities. The tube/hose only fails due to fatigue or chemical action.
Reversible
Due to the action of the pump it can be used to empty lines or clear blockages by reversible rotation.
No slip
The pumps have no internal backflow giving accurate dosing without slip
Accurate dosing The pumps are accurate in dosing, with repeatability of ±0.5% and metering capabilities of ±2%.

Peristaltic pump principle
The principle of the peristaltic pump is based on alternating compression and relaxation of the tube within the pump head, operating in a similar way to our throat and intestines.
The medium to be pumped does not come into direct contact with any of the moving parts of the pump and is totally contained within a tube. The rollers of the pump head pass along the length of the tube compressing it totally closed and upon restitution of the tube a strong vacuum is formed which draws the product in and along the tube.
Each rotation of the pump displaces a constant quantity of product with high efficiency which allows a Verderflex® Smart to be suitable for accurate dosing applications.
